Since we normally focus on “Thanksgiving” on the November Calendar, this year I thought I’d once again give a little biblical encouragement to the Hunters! J After all, many of us are “Thankful” for the opportunity to hunt, and this reminder every 5 years or so shouldn’t offend too many of the rest of you! And notice the emphasis on bow hunting! J
Scriptures for Hunters!
Psalm 50:9-11: “I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.”
Isaiah 7:24: “Men will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers and thorns.”
Deuteronomy 14:4-5: “These are the animals you may eat: …the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep.”
Amos 9:3a: “Though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, there I will hunt them down and seize them.”
Jeremiah 16:16b: “…I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.”
II Samuel 22:33-35: “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.”
Proverbs 12:27: “The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.”
Genesis 49:24: “But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, ”
Genesis 2:3: “Now then, get your weapons–your quiver and bow–and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.”
