Growth
It is often in the month of June we really begin to see the evidence of the new growth that began several weeks ago. It’s a “growing” month! God’s plan for us as Believers is that we grow. As followers of Jesus who desire to grow, it is important to understand the biblical philosophy or model through which we come to know, understand, and apply Truth. The best way to describe this model is this: Believers must come to the correct view of the truth revealed in Scripture, and from that view come to the correct conviction. Once the correct conviction is established, they must take the correct action to maintain and uphold it. That’s how we grow.
It is a model we find all through the Old and New Testament. In this model, God reveals His truth to man and then allows him to accept or reject it, as well as reap the consequences of this choice. As Believers, we have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in us, constantly urging us to know and live out God’s truth.
So the question is: Are you following the Holy Spirit’s leading? Are your convictions of the revealed truth of God’s Word driving your thoughts and actions?
Ephesians 4:15-16: “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work..” (NIV)
