Timothy 6:6-10: “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it; but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
“A man once asked God, “What is time like to You?” God replied, “A thousand years to you is like one day to Me.”
The man thought for a minute, then asked, “What is money like to You?” God replied, “A million dollars to you is like a penny to Me.”
The man boldly asked, “Well, God, can You give me one of Your pennies then?”
God smiled and replied, “Just a minute.”
As we embark on the adventure of 2025 we will be tempted to use our time, our talents, our energy and our resources on things that will not last. Let’s focus on the eternal, and follow the Lord’s advice from Matthew 6:31-33: “So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat?' or What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
