Doctrinal Statement

We believe in the One True God, and that God is spirit. God eternally exists in Three Persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. These three are One God having the same nature, attributes and perfections. They are eternal, infinite and worthy of the same homage, confidence and obedience. We believe in God the Father; perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; He hears and answers prayer. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner, born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life upon the earth as True God and True Man. He bore our sins in His own body on the Cross, laid down His life for us, and arose the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. Forty days later He ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for His children. His return will be personal, imminent, and pre-tribulational for the Church. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, not a mere influence. He is equal with the Father and the Son and of the same nature. He was active in the creation. In His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment to come. He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony. He is the agent in the new birth. He is the seal. We believe in the Genesis account of creation; that man and the universe came into existence by the direct creative act of God and not by evolution or any other means. We believe that Satan was once holy and enjoyed heavenly honors, but through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty, fell and drew after him a host of angels. He is now the malignant prince of the power of the air and the unholy god of this world. Scripture declares him to be man’s great tempter, the enemy of God and the accuser of the saints. He is the author of all false religions, the chief power back of the apostasy, and the lord of the Antichrist and the author of all powers of darkness. He was defeated at the Cross and is destined to be cast into hell. We believe Hell to be a real place of everlasting conscious suffering prepared for Satan and his angels. We believe that man was created in the image and after the likeness of God. By Adam’s voluntary transgression man fell from his sinless and happy state. As a result the whole human race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. We believe that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was made to be sin for us, dying in our place and stead. No repentance, no feeling, no faith, no good resolutions, no sincere efforts, no submissions to the rules of any church or of all the churches that have existed since the days of the apostles, can add in the very least to the value of the precious blood or to the merit of that finished work wrought for us by Him who united in His Person true and proper divinity with perfect and sinless humanity. ~ Ref: Ro 3:24-25, Ga 1:14, Ga 2:16, Eph 1:7, Eph 2:8-9, He 9:12, I Pet 1:18-19 

We believe that owing to man’s universal depravity and death in sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again; and that no degree of reformation, however great; no attainment in morality, however high; no culture, however attractive; no humanitarian and philanthropic schemes and societies, however useful; no baptism or other ordinance, however administered; can help the sinner to take one step toward heaven. Salvation is by grace; it is a gift of God, not a reward or result of works. It is appropriated by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who shed his precious blood on Calvary for the forgiveness of sin. We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and thus secure in Christ forever. We believe that sinful man is justified, that is, declared righteous before Almighty God, by faith alone; we believe justification includes the forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life. ~ Ref: Ro 3:24, Ro 5:1, Ga 2:16 

We believe that we are called with a holy calling to walk, not after the flesh, but after the Spirit and so to live in the Spirit that we should not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. By means of the Holy Spirit who helps us in our weaknesses, we are enabled to live a life of victory over the flesh, the world and the devil, which remain our enemies throughout our entire pilgrimage. We have been crucified with Christ and having died with Him, we have also risen with Him to walk in newness of life, becoming by the indwelling Holy Spirit more than conquerors in all the trials and circumstances that our Heavenly Father permits us to pass through. We are to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive unto God, constantly yielding our members as instruments of righteousness rather than instruments of unrighteousness. We are in bondage, though not in bondage to the devil and sin, but in blessed bondage to our Savior and righteousness. We believe that sin is the transgression of, or lack of conformity to, the “holy character of God”. It is disobeying God, in deliberate rebellion or being negligent in the performance of that which we know is God’s will. All who are saved should therefore be separated from sin and the world’s contamination. Separation is twofold; it is from sin and unto God. We believe that the true Church is the invisible body and espoused Bride of Christ, made up of all born again believers from the day of Pentecost until the rapture. Believers become members of the true Church by the baptizing work of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation. By nature the local Church is the visible expression of the true Church and is God’s authoritative agency for accomplishing His purpose in the world in this age. We believe that spiritual gifts are special spiritual abilities graciously and sovereignly given by God through the Holy Spirit on behalf of Christ to each member of the church. These are to be exercised by each believer for the spiritual maturity of the body of Christ. ~ Ref: Ro 12:3-8, I Cor 12:4-11, Eph 4:7-8 

We believe that the sign gifts of the early church, speaking in tongues, working of miracles, and healing, ceased as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established. ~ Ref: I Cor 1:22, I Cor 13:8-12, 2 Cor 12:12 

We believe that the two ordinances given to the Church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Christian baptism is best symbolized by the immersion of the believer in water. It is the picture of our Lord’s death, burial and resurrection; and is the believer’s public testimony of his death to sin and self, being resurrected to walk in newness of life. Every believer ought to prayerfully study the Scriptures and be obedient to the Lord in this matter of baptism. The Lord’s Supper is the believer’s reminder of Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. The elements used are symbolic of His body and shed blood, which were given for us. This time should always be preceded by self-examination. We believe in the dispensational approach of Bible interpretation but reject the extreme teaching known as Hyper-Dispensationalism, such as that teaching which opposes either the Lord’s Table or water baptism. ~ Ref: Mt 28:19-20, Ac 2:41-42, Ac 18:8, I Cor 1:16, I Cor 11:23-24 

We believe in the personal, dispensational, imminent, pre-tribulational and pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ. At this time the Church will be caught up to be with the Lord. This catching away is known as the rapture. The believers shall then appear at the judgment seat of Christ. After the rapture, the anti-Christ will have the world under his control with the happenings accelerated during the last three and one half of the seven-year tribulation period. At the close of this period there will be the battle of Armageddon followed by the judgment of nations. Israel will then be restored to her land and the one thousand (1000) year or millennial reign of Christ will begin. We believe the millennial reign will be a literal one thousand (1000) year period of time. At the close of this one thousand (1000) year period the devil will be loosed for a season, but will be defeated and cast into the lake of fire. Then will follow the Great White Throne judgment, when the dead will be judged. If anyone’s name is not found written in the Book of Life he will be thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
